Consul General ONO signs a grant contract for a project under the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Projects (GGP) with Municipality of Kumalarang

On September 29, Consul General ONO and Mayor Ruel Molina of the Municipality of Kumalarang signed a grant contract for the project titled “The Project for the Construction of Rice Post-Harvest Facility in Kumalarang, Zamboanga del Sur,” under Japan’s Official Development Assistance (ODA) through the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Projects (GGP).
The grant, amounting to 71,100 US dollars (approximately 4.39 million pesos), will be used for the construction of one rice post-harvest facility and the provision of one rice milling machine. Through this project, the Municipality of Kumalarang aims to establish a direct rice procurement and distribution system, thereby ensuring a stable supply of hygienically dried and milled rice for local residents and contributing to the improvement of the living standards of rice farmers in the municipality.
