On July 9, Consul General ONO joined the turnover ceremony for the project titled “The Project for the Provision of Bamboo Processing Equipment in Santo Tomas, Davao del Norte”, under Japan’s Official Development Assistance (ODA) through the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Projects (GGP).
The grant, amounting to approximately 3.23 million pesos, was used to provide new bamboo processing equipment for members of the Bobongon Tree Planters Association Inc. (BTPAI) and local farmers. By enabling bamboo farmers to produce high value-added products, as well as promoting the proper harvesting of bamboo left unharvested, the project contributes to the socio-economic development of the local community and helps maintain a sustainable environment.
