Consul General ONO signs a grant contract for a project under the Grant Assistance for Grass-Roots Human Security Projects (GGP) with the Province of Surigao del Norte

On March 3, 2026, Consul General ONO Hirotaka and Surigao del Norte Provincial Governor Robert Lyndon S. Barbers signed a grant contract for the project titled “The Project for the Reconstruction of the Evacuation Center and Community Center in San Juan, Province of Surigao del Norte,” under Japan’s Official Development Assistance (ODA) through the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP).
The grant, amounting to 66,321 US dollars (approximately 3.9 million pesos), will be used to reconstruct the evacuation center and community center in San Juan, Alegria. By providing a safe space in the event of natural disasters and emergencies, the project aims to improve the local disaster prevention infrastructure, thereby contributing to the safety of residents and the promotion of disaster prevention education activities.
