On May 3, Acting Consul General Inoue attended the wreath laying ceremony in commemoration of the 80th Liberation Day of Davao.
In his message, Acting Consul General Inoue extended his sincerest respect for the Filipino veterans whose unwavering dedication and services played a crucial role for the peace and prosperity of their nation and reflected on the shared history of Japan and Davao before since the early 1900s.
Furthermore, he highlighted that the peace and prosperity the Japanese treasure today are built upon the magnanimity and benevolence graciously extended to us by the Filipino people, and underscored that Japan has proudly and unwaveringly followed the path of a peace-loving nation for the past 80 years and is determined to never allow the devastation of war to be repeated ever again.
