Happy new year from the Consulate General of Japan in Davao!

At the end of last year, the Japanese government’s travel advisory to Japanese nationals was relaxed in parts of Mindanao, including Davao region, based on the improvement of the security situation. The Consulate General of Japan will work hard to lower further the levels of the travel advisory in line with the present security situation, and to promote trade, investment, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges between Japan and Mindanao.

The most important task of the Consulate General of Japan is to protect the lives and safety of all Japanese people in Mindanao, and it requires the Consulate General of Japan to communicate with them on a regular basis. Please feel free to contact us anytime for any inquiries and concerns.

I am also very grateful that Filipino people in Mindanao have a sense of affinity towards Japan. The Consulate General of Japan will continue to offer opportunities and information about our activities, Japan’s culture, attractions and foreign policies, among others through various events and our SNS.

Keeping in mind the 80th year of the end of World War II this year, let us take some time to reflect our past deeply. Let us respect our ancestors and appreciate the value of peace. Let us renew our determination to never repeat war.

I hope that 2025 will be a wonderful year for everyone.
