On August 1, Consul General ISHIKAWA attended the turn-over ceremony for “The Project for Provision of Rice Milling Facilities and Equipment for Self-Sufficiency of Student Dormitory in the Province of Cotabato,” which is part of Japan’s Official Development Assistance (ODA) through the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP).

The project, with a grant amounting to USD 104,271 or approximately 5.78 million pesos, constructed rice drying and milling facilities and installed rice milling equipment for Mindanao Children’s Library Foundation (MCL). Through the improvement of rice post-harvest facilities, the project will greatly contribute to enhancing MCL’s self-sufficiency and ensuring food security for their scholars from poor families.

Consul General ISHIKAWA Yoshihisa, MCL Executive Director MATSUI Tomo, Mayor Oscar Valdevieso of the Municipality of Matalam, and Barangay Captain Edwin Garcia of Barangay Dalapitan graced the ceremony with their presence.
