On June 27, Consul General and Madame ISHIKAWA visited Okinawa.
They paid a courtesy call on Okinawa Davao Association Chairman UEHARA Kiyoshi. They also visited the Davao Tower (a monument built inside the Peace Memorial Park in Itoman City), the Himeyuri Memorial Tower, and the Okinawa Prefectural Peace Memorial Museum. They recalled the special relationship between Okinawa and Davao, looked back on the tragedy of war and the preciousness of peace, and renewed a pledge never to wage war again.
