Consul General ISHIKAWA signs a grant contract of a project of the Grant Assistance for Grass-Roots Human Security (GGP) (United Farmers Association, Inc.)

     On December 20, Consul General ISHIKAWA and Mr. Norberto Valdez, President of United Farmers Association, Inc. (UNIFARM) signed a grant contract under Japan’s Official Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Project (GGP) at the Consulate General of Japan in Davao, for “The Project for the Provision of Agricultural Equipment for United Farmers Association, Inc. in Bansalan” in Davao del Sur. The said grant, up to 70,729 US dollars (approximately four million pesos), will be used to procure two combine harvesters and one tractor for UNIFARM. The project will eliminate delays in cultivation management by rice farmers, including land preparation, harvesting and threshing, and contribute to the elimination of rice production losses and the improvement of farmers' livelihoods.
