The member of Japan’s House of Councillors Hon. SHIOMURA Ayaka visits Davao

     On August 10, Hon. SHIOMURA visited Mindanao Kokusai Daigaku (MKD), Philippine Nikkei Jin Kai International School (PNJKIS) and Philippine Nikkei Jin Kai’s Office, and was warmly welcomed by school officials, faculty staff and some students. After giving an address, the parliamentarian had a brief tour of the school and college. She also paid a courtesy call on Davao City Mayor Hon. Sebastian Duterte and discussed Japan-Davao relationship.

     On August 11, the parliamentarian attended the “Ireisai,” or the annual memorial service that was jointly organized by the Consulate-General of Japan in Davao, Philippine Nikkei Jin Kai, Inc. and Barangay Mintal at the Mintal Public Cemetery, Davao City. She also visited IMIN the Philippines-Japan Historical Museum and listened to the second-generation Nikkeijin’s stories.
