On March 17, Consul General Ishikawa attended the handover ceremony of the gymnastics equipment and facility to the Gymnastics Association of the Philippines at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex in Manila City. The project is supported under the Grant Assistance for Cultural Grassroots Projects of Japan by the Embassy of Japan.
It is expected that by utilizing the gymnastics training facility donated by the Japanese Government, the next generation of Filipino gymnasts will be nurtured.
Japanese Ambassador Koshikawa Kazuhiko, former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, Ms. Cynthia Carrion, President of the Gymnastics Association of the Philippines, Mr. Nishimura Kenji, acting Secretary General of Japan Gymnastics Association, world-class gymnast Carlos Yulo and his coach Mr. Kugimiya Munehiro participated in the ceremony and they observed the young gymnasts practice using the donated facility.
