Consul General Ishikawa visits Japanese companies around Cagayan de Oro City

  On March 9, Consul General Ishikawa visited Toyo Construction Company in Cagayan de Oro City, Philippine Sinter Corporation in Villanueva and the Yakult El Salvador Manufacturing Plant in El Salvador City in the province of Misamis Oriental.

  Toyo Construction Company is engaged in the Cagayan de Oro River flood control projects. This area has experienced big damage in the past and Toyo Construction is responsible for the most difficult construction zone among the three zones, where the soil is very soft. They made use of Japan's advanced technology called "Sand Compaction Method" and completed the construction of the embankment and the road on it, while the other two zones are still under construction. The company showcased Japan's high technology in flood control.

  Philippine Sinter Corporation has produced sintered ore which is the raw material for steel since 1977, by using iron ore from Brazil or Australia and limestone from Bohol island. Consul General Ishikawa was deeply impressed that the company has blended in local communities for many years and has supported Japanese economy at the forefront.

  Yakult Philippines, the manufacturer of the original probiotic drink, constructed its newest plant in El Salvador City which is the second plant after the one in Calamba, Laguna. They are now preparing for the start of the operation sometime in September this year.
