Consul General Ishikawa visited the cemetery of Atty. Zen Malang

On August 30, Consul General Ishikawa visited the cemetery of Atty. Zen Malang in Cotabato City. Atty. Malang, as human rights lawyer and peace advocate, established a mechanism of Mindanao Human Rights Action Center (MinHRAC) to which any witness can report a human rights violation. To our great regret, he passed away because of cancer on March 20, 2021. Atty. Zen Malang was a best friend of Consul General Ishikawa. With Atty. Malang's sincere hope for the peace in our hearts, Japan is determined to commit itself to the Mindanao Peace Process toward the future.
