Maayong Adlaw Kaninyong Tanan!

I am Yoshihisa ISHIKAWA, Consul-General of Japan in Davao, and I arrived in Davao City on April 9, 2022.

Since I joined the foreign service, I have been working as a specialist on Philippine affairs for more than 30 years. I have been assigned twice to the Embassy of Japan in Manila, Philippines, totaling 11 years. This time, I am extremely happy to live in the lively and beautiful city of Davao.

The Consulate-General of Japan in Davao exists for all the Japanese people staying in Mindanao region. All of us in the Consulate-General aim for our office to be approachable and dependable. We always welcome any comments and opinions regarding our Consulate-General. All of us are doing our utmost in promoting Japan-Mindanao economic relations, cultural, educational, and human exchanges, as well as introducing the charms of Japan. Our office also intends to be beneficial for Filipinos as well. Furthermore, our Consulate-General promises to be sympathetic to the hardships and concerns that all the Japanese descendants, Nikkeijin, have faced for a long time, as they are precious treasures who can link Japan and the Philippines.

Finally, the Government of Japan has strongly assisted to the Mindanao Peace Process and will continue its support for the success of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

Please take good care of yourselves in this time of the pandemic.

Daghang Salamat!
