Important Notice : Consular Appointment System

The Consular Service of the Consulate General of Japan in Davao will opt for an appointment system beginning May 18 until further notice in accordance to IATF resolution.
Notice to the General Public:
Consulate General of Japan in Davao
1. Receiving Hours
Morning: 8:30 – 12:30
Afternoon: 2:00 – 4:30
(Shortened office hours due to ECQ will be changed back to normal office hours.)
2. Introduction of Consular Appointment System
(1) Japanese Assistance will continue same as before.
(2) Passport Application: Appointment is necessary
(3) Family Register and Nationality related cases and Certificates: Appointment is necessary; we will only accept urgent cases of applications or registrations. Applications that are not urgent will be accepted after the Community Quarantine is being lifted.
(4) Overseas Voter’s Registration: Appointment is necessary.
(5) Visa: Only Diplomatic, Official, Emergency and Humanitarian-related visa applications will be accepted.
3. Issuance of Passport and Certificates
(1)Passport Issuance (5 working days; no changes)
(2)Releasing of Certificates will be in the afternoon of the following day.
(3)For applicants such as residing outside Davao City who made reservation beforehand through the appointment system, certificates will be issued on the same day.
4. To schedule for an appointment, the applicant must send the request with the following information (via text message). The applicant will receive a confirmation message within the day or the following day depending on the time that he/she requested for an appointment.

5. Countermeasures for COVID 19
(1)No mask, no entry.
(2)Applicant’s body temperature will be checked upon entering the office. (Applicants with 37.5 °C and above will not be allowed to enter.)
(3)Only applicants will be allowed to enter the office. Those who are accompanying the applicant will be advised to stay and wait outside.
