Organized by the Consulate General of Japan in Davao and supported by the Davao City Government, Davao City Investment Promotions Center, and the Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc., the three-day seminar was attended by government officials from the Davao region and other major cities in Mindanao as well as Japanese and Filipino business executives from various industries including manufacturing, electronics, automobile, tourism, banking, environmental solutions and food industry.

A business matching was also held to give the participants an opportunity to identify their prospects and meet potential partners face to face.
Aside from inviting the regional government agencies and business sectors of Davao City, the Consulate General also invited the local governments of Digos, General Santos and Zamboanga together with the cities of Butuan, Cagayan de Oro and Tagum -- who also supported of the 3-day seminar -- to participate in the seminar since these major cities play important roles in the development of Mindanao as a whole.
During the seminar, 60 Japanese company representatives were in attendance and some gave company presentations. The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) also presented the business potentials in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) to Japanese companies.
